Some applications support deep linking, if I’m using the term correctly.
In Curio or Devonthink, I can get a link to a specific note or group of notes in those applications. Aeon 3 will use those links. Version 2 is already a fading memory, but I think x-link support is new to V3.
I can take notes in a note-taking application and link from an Aeon event to the notes.
Unfortunately, I don’t see a way to link from another application to an entity in Aeon.
Anyway, I’ve just made a fresh start on something I’ve wanted to write for a while. I’m doing what I call a storyboard, short sketches that hit the high points, in Curio. Aeon events will link to supporting information in Curio.
You can try using the event type Backstory for events you’re calling History. When you create a current event, you can enter a relationship to a Backstory event. So, say a Backstory event is being fired from your first job. You use the Backstory type event for that. Then when you create a current event, say, getting a new job, (maybe that’s plot?) you can add a Relationship in the Inspector. Go to + More Relationships, select Backstory, and choose how it relates to the current event (Causes, Caused by, Relates to, etc.). You can also add your own relationships for those (in Settings).
I ended up doing a variation of this and changed how I sorted my events, made it events (for everything that happens), plot (story relevant), and backstory (character history) instead of what I did previously
