Did I lose the Location (aka Place) icon in my Timeline file?

Dear all, this is my first post.
I am working on My first TimeLine file, and I am getting crazy with the item Location, aka Place.
As you may see in the screenshot MyTimeLine, there is no Location/Place icon.
However, if I create a new TimeLine file it is present as expected (As a new user, I cannot upload the screenshot).
Honestly, now my working file is a big one, so I would like to restore the Location icon.

I do really need It. How can I have this item in my working file?
I would really appreciate your help.
Regards,

Pasquale Giorio

Hi Pasquale,

Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the forum!

This sounds like it could be one of two things:

  • the “Location” Item Type is currently hidden, or
  • the template/file you are using simply does not include a Location Item Type yet.

Let’s start by checking if the Location Item Type is hidden.

How to check if the Item Type is hidden:

  1. Click on the “3 dots” icon on the left-hand side sidebar

  2. If “Location” is there, click on the item type to make it visible - Done

  3. If “Location isn’t there, go to the guide below on how to add “Location”

How to add a new Item Type:

  1. Click on the “3 dots” icon on the left-hand side sidebar

  2. Select “Item type settings”

  3. Click “+ New” at the bottom of the window

  4. A new item type will appear

  5. Update the following fields:

a. Name - example Location
b. Plural - example Locations
c. Icon (optional) - example changed to flag
d. Color (option) - example changed to orange
e. Add or remove fields (optional)

  1. Click “OK” when done

  1. In the sidebar, you will now have an icon for “Location”
  2. Click on the “Location” icon to open it up
  3. Click “New Location” to add locations

  1. Done

If you run into any trouble with this, feel free to let us know, and we’ll be happy to help further.

Dear Riaan,
thank you for your attention.
Actually, your colleague Mrs Rebecca replied to me to solve this issue.
All my best regards,
