I am setting up character ‘start’ dates based on the first event of my novel, using relative dating. So the main character has a constraint with an offset of 10 years. (She is 10 years old at the start of the novel.) But in the sidebar, her age is listed as 3631 days. I want to have days on the timeline, but it doesn’t make any sense to have days as the age. I can’t find a way to fix this. Any advice?
Thanks. I’ll compare our settings and see if that helps.
Hi Mary,
At the moment, this isn’t possible.
When a file is configured to use a Daily calendar (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc.), durations and ages are also displayed in days. This is why your character’s age appears as 3631 days rather than 10 years.
The current workaround is to temporarily switch the file’s calendar settings to use Calendar Dates, where ages and durations will be displayed in years. You can then switch back to the Daily calendar when you need to work with Day 1, Day 2, and so on.
We do have plans to support workflows that combine regular calendar dates with relative day numbering, but that is not available yet.
If you have any questions or require further assistance, please feel free to contact us again.
Kind regards,
Riaan
