Small feature request: add highlighting subway tracks/lines on hover

So, I use the subway to track when different fields enter or stop being present in stories, by when they first enter via an event, or when they stop continuing after an event.

Now, to make it easier to see, especially with many more fields/things that can be tracked, to have a subway line be highlighted, while the rest becomes soft of faded out. Meaning, if i hover my mouse over a track, only that track would be fully visibile, while others are faded out.

You could try using filters and these can be saved. see below

Yeah, I guess if it’s not implemented, I could do that. But, then again, I could just turn the filters off and on anyway.

The point is kind of to just be able to see one specific field on hover, instead of having to click that many times. Quality of life thing, I guess

That makes sense - and I can definitely see the distinction between long-term filtering versus quickly isolating a single subway line temporarily while staying in the flow of exploring the timeline.

The filter workaround shared above is definitely useful, but I can also understand how repeatedly toggling filters on and off could interrupt that workflow when you really just want a fast visual way to focus on one field at a time.

This also feels fairly consistent with how highlighting already works in some other parts of the app, like the Relationship view, so it seems like a sensible quality-of-life improvement for more visually dense subway maps. We’ll queue this up to look into further, although I can’t give any ETA around if or when it might be implemented.

It’s good that the vision of my suggestion got recognized at least. I’ll see the feature appear if it does.
