My use is primary for research, and over time it seems that I have accumulated in Aeon a (larger) numbers of scrivener documents that no longer holds a valid link back to scrivener.
is there a useful manner do find those “orphans”, instead of scrolling endlessly.
I use a datesystem for naming in scrivener based on date and synopsis, like: 2023-06-27 This is a strange UFO input
so one way to pinpoint these non linked items could be to simply search for 2023 (checking if there is items outside the actual 2026-folder.

At the moment, there isn’t a way to directly search for or filter items based on whether they are still linked to a Scrivener document.
If you’re only syncing your Narrative folder with Scrivener, one possible workaround is to filter for item types that belong in the Narrative, but are not located within the Narrative folder. These would be the most likely candidates for items that are no longer linked to your current Scrivener project.
Item types that are synced to their own dedicated Scrivener folders (for example, Characters or Character Groups) should continue to sync correctly and wouldn’t normally need to be included in that search.

A thought. If you add a keyword (make up like linked) to every document in Scrivener. I selected the manuscript folder in outliner view to avoid opening all the text and used shift to highlight all the files. Now drag the new keyword into the binder and they will all have the tag added. Now open Aeon and would see every active file linked to scrivener with the symbol for needed update. Those no longer linked would not have the update symbol. you could test on a few files with no update to see if these are orphans.
Never tried but might work for you. If it does let me know, I’m curious. When done delete the keyword and this would again update the synced files in Aeon and also remove the unneeded tag.
