I searched and saw that people aren’t liking the tag limitations and are creating a tag item type instead. After lots of frustration trying to edit and delete tags, I think it’s a good idea.
However, now that I’ve deleted them, there are still 3 tags that can be seen when grouping or filtering, but there are no events with tags (there’s also no number next to the tag, like with tagged events that did exist, further confirming there are no associated events).
I use Keywords to track in Scrivener so want every character, location, themes, foreshadowing, etc. When appear in Aeon as tags, I use to create my list of characters, locations, etc (arcs, plot beats) and assign them to scenes. If you don’t use them or want them to disappear when done, look at the Content tab above the timeline, narrative views, or the cards icon in the footer and simply click to hide tags. ( I look at tags as info to add or not add in Aeon.
thanks for the info… not using scrivener, however I do know how to remove them from the cards, but they still exist in my filters even though none of my events have any tags. It’s more of an annoyance that a huge issue, just thought there might be a way to purge unused tags. cheers.
Once you have located the remaining tags, you can remove them from those items. The temporary Spreadsheet View can then be deleted when you no longer need it.
Alternatively, you can export the project as a CSV and check the Tags column there to identify any items that still have tags assigned.
That did it! thanks! I was pulling my hair out. I wish the tags were easier to manage/rename/delete, etc. I decided to use a “tag” item type instead, also because I can see everything in a list that I can even nest, whereas with tags it’s flat, and I’m likely to add something I already have because it doesn’t show you existing items like with item types.
